The BPFMC was set up in 1966 to manage the Brudenell Playing Fields and
Village Hall ('The Barn') which had been bought in trust by the village of
Baston for the recreation and leisure of the village residents and
neighbourhood with the object of improving their condition of life,
without distinction of sex, politics, religion or other opinions. Baston
is unusual in that it is one of the few villages where both the Playing
Fields and Village Hall are managed by a charity rather than a Parish
Council. The Playing Fields and Village Hall belong to all the residents
of the village – the management committee manages the Trust on behalf of
the village.
